A Birthday Greeting

Oh, happy birthday my dear, dearest friend,

This warm greeting of love to you I send,

I pray to God for His effusive grace,

That He’ll grant you the best things for always.

I am very blessed for the love we share,

Your name has been engraved in my heart,

Your memories in my heart shall linger,

Please, my friend, consider this a promise,

Let fire consume me if it is broken.

While awake, I never fail to recall,

The happy moments I spent with you,

The days, those were bitterest to endure,

Yet, your presence was my source of comfort.

Even there in my dreams you are a part,

Asleep or awake, your mem’ries fills me,

By the looks of it, it will not depart.

I consider myself terribly blessed,

For having a lovely angel as you,

On this fateful day, my dear, dearest friend,

Even the earth rejoices without end.

I wish I could say all I need to tell,

My heart’s swelling with love and devotion,

Yet courage is too little to bear those,

For weakness crawls all over my body.

Your serene beauty captivated me,

Your image and form to me are sexy,

Yet, that’s not the reason why I’ve loved you,

Surely it’s part, but it’s a choice of the heart.

I have loved you with a love that’s so true,

It’s pure in essence, endless to fathom,

“Far longer than forever”, my heart sings,

Seasons after seasons it will remain,

Unconditional, indescribable,

Ever enduring, all encompassing,

Far from being perfect but it is true,

‘Guess that’s what’s important for me and you.

I am not flattering or pretending,

Neither am I exaggerating things,

I’m just expressing what I feel for you,

For you are the only inspiration,

For composing these verses before you,

For you give me strength in my troubles,

You make me smile in spite of gloom.

Happy birthday again my dear friend,

On your eighteenth year of earthly existence,

Let me convey to you my sincere love,

By wishing you all the best in this life,

Wish you‘ll live to see your second childhood.
