I Will Wait For You

It’s been a long time
since I’ve seen you wear that sweet smile.
I can never forget those happy times we’ve shared;
your giggles and laughs that relieve my soul.
So, it pains me to know
that I’m one of the reasons why
you’re going through confusion now.
How I wish I could comfort you!
I know people are pressuring you,
injecting so many ideas that battle inside your mind.
It’s a choice between the man you’ve grown up with
and the man they want you to choose to grow old with.
I can’t promise you wealth and treasure,
neither a wonderful future free from trouble.
But this I know:
I have loved you with an everlasting love,
I am willing to endure any hardship for that love.
For it is my life; the wind that I breathe,
the blood that streams through my veins.
Love survives all tests so
I accept the trial that love has brought into our life.
I am giving you the freedom to choose: me, him or us.
Consider what would be the best for you
and the people around you.
I trust you and I know that you can weigh
between fairness and love for love is just.
So be true to your heart.
I assure you my respect whatever it will be.
I can suffer anything even if you choose him over me.
As long as you promise,
that you’ll always keep that sweet smile for me.
If there is anything I cannot do,
it is only to live without you.
So, as I go through a seeming endless waiting,
Trust me as I say, I’ll wait for you.
