written for the United Methodist Men, The Lagro United Methodist Church, Quezon City, Philippines
We’re the men, we’re the men,
the United Methodist Men.
We are one, life and mind,
and a living faith is our bind.
In our hearts we hold fast
the love of Christ unsurpassed
and so we are marching on
by the Lord’s inspiration,
Unto all the nations:
Yea, Christ, the Lord
is our God and Savior.
Oh how great, glorious;
faithful and marvelous!
And if you will trust in Him,
He’ll bring light to your world dark and dim
and by His power He will save you;
He will give you strength anew
by His love ever true.
We’re the men, we’re the men
the United Methodist Men.
Life and limb, we’re offering
and our battle song we sing,
to the Holy Lamb of God
who has saved us by His blood
and so we will worship Thee
as Your servants saved and free
by Your grace faithfully.
Bridge:
And just like a tree
out of a tiny seed
sprout begins, then into leaves
tender stalks have grown to be
tender stalks have grown to be
a pillar of life!
Yea, the Lord, is the tree
and the branches are we.
We can’t live, we can’t live
if we on Him will not cleave!
For we are fathers of the children
whom the Lord God has given
and so in Him we will abide
and His words will be our guide
to gather them at the Lord’s side.
We’re marching on, we’re marching on
gentle soldiers of the Lord,
we’re marching on, we’re marching on
to proclaim the Living Word.
We’re the men, we’re the men
the United Methodist Men,
We’re the men, we’re the men
the United Methodist Men!
