Persevering Faith

Who can see light
when darkness and gloom overshadow?
Who can still fight
while taking a big blow?

It’s not by sight
that you’ll see tomorrow,
It’s by God’s might
that you’ll rise from sorrow.

Who can find delight
when spirit’s too low?
Who can love without fright
even if tears could flow?

He whose heart is upright
will keep God’s glow,
He who does what is right
lives to know:

There is no great height
if you know the way to follow,
Though your strength is finite
you can face the darkest billow.

Just hold on tight
and let persevering faith grow,
Let the love of God ignite
the passion for his name to hallow.
