I’m Glad We Became Friends so Many Years Ago

As I have written on my previous post, I’d like to share some poems from a greeting card, which I have received from my friend. Here’s the next poem:

When I look back over the years,

there are a few people

who stand out in my mind-

the ones who have been

truly significant in my life.

You’re one of those

very special people to me…

Whenever I’ve needed you,

you’ve shared

my laughter with me,

You’ve cried my sadness with me…

You’ve never deserted me

when times get tough…

Isn’t it great that,

many, many years ago,

we thought it was a good idea

to become friends.
